Career pathways and new qualifications in FM: Launching the virtual academy

Presentation by Asset Skills, who are the Sector Skills Council for the FM Sector, will make the case for attracting younger entrants into the FM sector as a career of choice. We will promote the idea of providing career pathways, supported by new FM qualifications, to support career progression and recognition of FM. Will include an introduction to the Facilities Management apprenticeship and the new Virtual Skills Academy which helps employers access qualifications through a network of specialist providers .

Steven Proudfoot, Director of UK Operations - Facilities Management, Asset Skills

Steven Proudfoot is the Director of UK Operations for Asset Skills and as such has overall responsibility for the teams who are out and about meeting employers. 

He has worked for the organisation since the start following a successful career in property that included stints as both employer and training provider. Steven was Chair of the Property Services National Training Organisation (PSNTO), Scotland, Director of the Sector Skills Alliance Scotland and Chaired the founding network of Sector Skills Councils in Scotland. 

As well as being Director of UK Operations, Steven is heavily involved in promoting Facilities Management (FM) through development of the new Virtual Skills Academy for Business Services and has responsibility for implementing the Train to Gain programme to employers across the Asset Skills industries.
